The façade diversity of the Maritim Hotel, one of the leading hotels in Berlin, is not apparent until at a second glance. Initially the stringent proportions of open and closed surfaces corresponding to the function in uncomplicated way are what grab your attention. The resulting façade relief gives the building a metropolitan character, further underlined by the solidity of the materials. A closer look reveals the ambitious architectural concept.
Essential elements are, for example: the glass canopy construction in the main entrance area, the canopy construction of the bistro terrace, the vertical sliding windows in the restaurant rooms, the large windows and external doors in the ground floor and the first storey and the double glass façade in the „Grand Hall“.
We were responsible for the design, production and assembly of the aluminium windows and doors, the façades, the skylights and the canopy construction. The aluminium windows are the result of our own in house design work.
